Scott Rubin

Scotty was my first friend when we moved to Miami Beach in '63. We had so much in common and were sports junkies from bowling to football and every other sport imaginable! Scotty was a great athlete who excelled in park ball in flag football, baseball and his best sport basketball! What a great shooter he was! For some reason he didn't play high school sports, but he could have played all three. Scotty started working at the age of14 or 15. He started working as an Orange Bowl vendor. He saved his money and bought a beautiful 1972 Orange Monte Carlo!None of us were even thinking of working and here Scotty was paying cash for a brand new car! Scotty was also off the charts smart! Numbers and dates were his forte and he would amaze all of us with his knowledge. Fast forward to late eighties and Scotty and his wife visited me when I was working in Nassau at Paradise Island casino. He loved being married and settled down.Years later after losing touch for a while I heard from a close friend of Scotty's that he went to Boulder with that Scotty had passed away. Tough to lose old friends you grew up with. But, thankfully we have fond memories to make it a little easier! RIP Scotty!
