Gregg L. Burchett (Age 51) tragically lost his life on Saturday, August 16, 2008.  He was born to Larry and Aileen Burchett in Spokane, WA on July 5, 1957. Gregg was a Mead High School graduate, went to Spokane Community College for diesel mechanics and then to Highline Community College near Seattle, WA receiving an AA Degree in Commercial Diving. After graduating in 1979, Gregg moved to New Orleans and began his diving career. In 1994, he and his son, Shawn moved to his farm on Wild Rose Prairie. Gregg farmed with his dad and continued diving part time. Gregg loved farming and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Gregg is survived by his son and wife, Shawn and Tricia; his mother, Aileen; his brother, Mike; one niece and nephew; several aunts and uncles (and their families); and family and friends in New Orleans, LA. His father preceded Gregg in death in 2005. Gregg will always be loved and will remain in our hearts and prayers forever. A Memorial Service honoring Gregg will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 22, 2008, in Deer Park at the Open Door Congregational Church, No. 205 Main St., directed by the Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park, WA, with Rev. Dr. Daniel N. Berg officiating. A reception for all family and friends will follow the services at the Deer Park Eagles Lodge. In lieu of flowers, Gregg's family suggests memorial contributions to the donor's choice.
