Teresa K Mantese (written by her family)

Lovingly called Tree by her family and friends, Tree was born May 8, 1957. She was Number Four out of Seven children. She graduated from Mead High School in 1975 and received her degree in Journalism from Eastern Washington University in 1979.

Tree was with her partner Sandra Moreland for more than 30 years. They lived in Portland, OR ,where Tree spent most of her time as a para-educator. She loved children.

She was loved for her hysterical and child-like sense of humor and her multitude of nieces and nephews would spend weeks with her and Sandra in Portland and also traveling to Cannon Beach, which was her favorite place on earth.

She was also an avid gardener and loved to show off her vegetables.

Tree ,vas stricken with pancreatic cancer in 2017. She gave it the Panther fight and participated in clinical trials of new chemotherapy drugs. She lost he fight January 17, 2024. She passed at her home in Portland surrounded by loved ones. She did not wish to have a service. Her only desire was to donate her body to OHSU in hopes of helping others.
