Rafael John Athens
Rafael & I dated our senior year & for a short time after graduation; however, we always stayed close friends & loved visiting one another. I have many good memories of our times together. He was smart, funny & talented. He identified strongly with his Greek heritage & changed his last name back to what it was before his father immigrated, Athanasopoulos. He worked so hard to become a dentist. Sadly, his career (& life) was short-lived (1956-1990). I grieve for his family; he was very much loved. R.I.P. Rafael!
