John, at 80, is the oldest Moscatelli at the reunion. He lives with his oldest granddaughter, Amanda, in Somerdale, N.J. His wife, Gerry (nee Gerew), passed away five years ago after 52 years of marriage. Gerry and John were blessed with two children, Ann Marie Baldwin and John Andrew (Andy) Moscatelli, and four grandchildren, Amanda Baldwin, Allison Baldwin, Jay Moscatelli and Maxwell Moscatelli. Born in South Philadelphia, John grew up mostly in West Philadelphia and Maple Shade, N.J., with his siblings, Ed and Marg (Maggie), and the youngest of the pack, Pat (Patti Ann, Patricia Ann). The day Pasquale (Pat) and Charlotte, our parents, brought Pat home from the hospital was especially memorable for him, as they forgot about him and left him waiting for a ride home from Holy Cross High School. He had to walk home from Delran to Maple Shade, nearly 10 miles, lugging his bookbag. (They were surprised when he walked in the door.) In 1985, he retired from the U.S. Air Force as a major after 20 years of service. John was a public affairs officer. His claim to some notoriety was as the on-scene Department of Defense spokesman for the military joint task force dispatched to Guyana to recover the remains of 910 Americans who committed suicide at Jonestown. After retiring from the Air Force, John held positions over the next 25 years as a senior executive with two Philadelphia area public relations agencies. In addition, for the last 30 years, he has been an adjunct professor at Rowan University, Glassboro, N.J., teaching undergraduate and graduate public relations and strategic communication courses. He completes his final semester at Rowan in May. He is a Public Relations Society of America Fellow and Accredited in Public Relations by PRSA. John was in the first graduating class of Holy Cross in 1961. He graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Philadelphia with a B.S. in history in 1965. He was a member of the Air Force ROTC at St. Joseph’s, where he was the cadet corps commander. He was also a soloist with the St. Joseph’s Glee Club. For 10 years, John was a board member of the Utility Emergency Services Fund and Families Forward Philadelphia, a nonprofit dedicated to helping homeless families find permanent housing. He is also a past president of the Philadelphia chapter of PRSA. |

Gerry and John's second born. Went by Andy as a kid, but haven't used that name since middle school. Don't mind being called Andy, but might not respond to it quickly. Married to Beth Zigmund for the last 21 years. We have 2 kids, Jay and Max. We live in South Burlington Vermont, where we've been for the last 5 years. Prior to that we lived in Haddonfield, a south Jersey suburb of Philly. I'm a chemical engineer by degree, and worked ~20 years in oil refining. I started staying home with the kids when they were little and we realized we didn't love using a nanny, and have been doing that since. My hobbies include woodworking, brewing beer, and cycling. Jay, our oldest just graduated High School. He's headed to the University of Vermont in the fall where he'll pursue a degree in Zoology with an eye toward a graduate degree in ornithology (study of birds.). Jay likes drawing, animating, reading, and really likes birds. Jay has a pet cat, Nico, and a pet snake, Aiden. Max, the youngest, is a sophomore in high school. He is also into drawing and has an almost manic interest in nuclear energy, particularly Chernobyl. Max has a pet cat, Skippie. |

Marguerite (Moscatelli, Jordan) Schultz / Marg / Maggie / Grams/ Aunt Marg Born: June 5, 1947 in Phila PA maggieschultz321@gmail.com Lived in: Phila PA, Maple Shade NJ, and spent lots of time in NYC as a kid; then Jupiter FL, Lake Park FL, Boynton Beach FL, and finally in Cary NC and Raleigh NC prior to moving to Melbourne FL where I have been since 1994. Hobby: work out at the gym, take care of my house and yard (hobby??). Pets: none at present, had 2 Cats, both passed; next will be a small dog (when I am ready). Sports: enjoy whatever others are doing or watching; no favorite team/s. Volunteer: Homeowners Assoc for the last 25+ years, Habitat for Humanity, Children's Hunger Project, various holiday food deliveries and others over the years. Interesting Fact about me: If I could, I would eat Ice Cream for (or at) all my meals. I don’t, but would if I could……….love ice cream! About myself: I enjoyed all forms of dance as a child; still enjoy it today when I have the opportunity. Never pursued a formal college degree after being thoroughly disappointed in my senior year of high school by qualifying for a full paid scholarship to nursing school, only to have the scholarship rescinded (long story). I did however get a degree in life experiences and expanded those experiences with various courses in different things of interest to me, not always for the purpose of the next job, mainly things of interest. Had a myriad of jobs in my lifetime and looking back I realize they were all appropriate for where I was in my life at that time. When I needed flexibility, I had it; when I needed additional income, I always found a way to make it happen (legally). I am finishing up 25+ years as a REALTOR in 2024 and had to laugh when a very good friend noted “this is the first time you have stayed in one position /job/ field for this long”, and she is correct! Married twice: divorced my first husband, the father of my 3 sons (John, Dean and Paul). Married again and gained a step daughter, Amy (also my daughter-in-law). Unfortunately lost my husband, Bob, to cancer after 21 years of marriage. Two Amazing Grandkids: Granddaughter, Kaylee Jordan and Grandson, Matthew Krininger, both University of Florida students and both Native Floridians????! I hope to travel and continue taking interesting courses once I am fully retired, which I should be by the time we all get together for the Moscatelli Family Reunion. Looking forward to getting reacquainted with, and meeting, all who attend. |
