Michael A. Monteleone, 65, passed away unexpectedly January 1, 2023 at his residence.
He was born January 14, 1957 in Clarksburgh, West Virginia to Angelo and Ethel (Schulte) Monteleone. He moved to Indiana in 1970 and graduated from Northwest High School in 1976. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1982, where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. Michael served in Desert Storm and earned several medals, including the Kuwait Liberation medal. He was very proud of the time he spent serving his country and enjoyed talking about his adventures while stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged in 1994, Michael began a lifelong career in the irrigation and landscaping business. He loved working outdoors and getting his hands dirty. He also loved football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by a daughter, Katie, of Noblesville; four grandchildren, Cayden and Corbin of Plainfield and Emmett and Elizabeth of Noblesville; two brothers, Tony (Maryanne) Congi of upstate New York and Mark (Donna) Monteleone of Mooresville; two sisters, Laura (John) Pazamickas of Youngstown, New York and Alicia Monteleone of Danville; three nephews, Shane, Tony, and Joseph; nine nieces, Christina, Rebecca, Anne Marie, Sandra, Lisa, Annette, Trisha, Heather, and Kayla; and several great-nephews and nieces. He is proceeded in death by his daughter, Appolonia Angelina Monteleone and his parents.
Visitation for Michael will be Monday, January 9, 2023 at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, IN beginning at 4 p.m. Military rites and Celebration of Life will be at a later date at the discretion of the family.
