Kathy was a 1976 graduate of Northwest High School.

Kathy was baptized in her early years and was currently attending New Beginnings Fellowship Church.

Kathy was currently employed at Charles Schwab as a Customer Service Representative. In previous years, she worked as an Insurance Agent for several years where she was able to fulfill her passion to help people.

Kathy was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. She enjoyed many activities and hobbies such as singing, dancing, puzzles, bowling, movies, and reading-especially her romance novels and horoscope books.

Kathy was an intelligent, witty, thoughtful, strong, caring, funny and most of all a beautiful woman.

Kathy departed this earth on Thursday November 18, 2010 at the age of 52. She was preceded in death by her father, James R. Spurlin and younger brother, Juan K. Spurlin Sr. To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her husband, Dyral Barber; daughters, Ashley Anthony, and Destiney Barber, mother, Mary B. Spurlin, grandmother, Katherine Spurlin (Granny), brothers Dwaine Spurlin, and James Spurlin, and a host of friends and relatives.
