Richard Cagle

Richard Raymond Cagle, Jr. October 30, 1956 – January 24, 1992 After attending college, Richard began his law enforcement career with the Gallaudet Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. He became fluent in American Sign Language and served as a court interpreter, assisting his department and others. Richard later joined the Metro Transit Police, where he met his wife, Katherine. They married and had two children. Eventually, Richard transitioned to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, where he continued his service while raising his family. Outside of work, Richard loved hunting and fishing—passions he carried throughout his life. Tragically, Richard passed away at the age of 35 from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He is remembered with love and pride by all who knew him.

Rick was my best friend in school and after. Sadest day of my life when he cased in his chips.
