Bucilla Richie Thompson was born to the late Henry Richie and Flora Burton Richie. She was a domestic worker and homemaker. She married Mack Thompson and they have 5 children (George Thompson, Steve Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Mac Ann Martin, Sara T. Johnson). She joined Cleveland C.M.E. Church at an early and and attended and worked until her health failed. She was the Mother of the Church, a Missionary, sang with the Note Singers, and a former member of the Eastern Star.
