
Mable Richie
1934-06-21 2015-06-10Mable Richie was born on June 21, 1934 in Toccoa, Georgia to the late Styles, Sr and Almeda Richie. She was preceded in death by parents; one sister Gladis Rosella Richie, and five brothers James Hurbert, Drake, Jasper, Henry, and Howard. Mable accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Cleveland CME Church in Toccoa, Georgia. She graduated from Whitman Hgh School and later moved to Detroit, Michigan where she lived for several years.
Mable later worked at J.P. Stevens as a textile weaver for 28 years before she retired. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Growing up in a strong Christian home Mable loved note singing and quartet singing.
Mable leaves to cherish her memory three loving daughters, Diane (Jonathan) Rhodes of Bristow, VA, Tawanna (Anthony) McCauley of Greenville, SC, and LaSandra Richie of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters Lurenia Goodine and Burice Cleveland of Seneca, SC; one brother Styles Richie, Jr of Madison, SC; Grandchildren: Eavian, Brennington, Gabriel, JuWan, McKenzie, Miracle, Raelan, and Dominic (Lisa) Rhodes of Virgina; one great-grandson Alexander Rhodes of Virginia; honorary daughter Betty (Clarence) Breazeale, many neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.
To my grandmother, I miss you so much. Wish we could have more conversations. You taught me so much growing up and I never understood why you did what you did sometimes. But I appreciate you more than ever. My daughter will be here soon and I just want you to know that, she is going to be great. I’ll make sure she knows of us all. I love you.
