Stephen Carew Grey Obituary
Steve Grey, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully with family by his side on October 14, 2024, at the age of 84.

Born February 21, 1940, in Seattle, WA, to Wheeler and Allene (May) Grey, Steve lived a full life going hard until the end. As a young survivor of Polio, he embraced life fully and with a positive spirit. He proudly attended Roosevelt High School ('58) and Linfield College ('62), earning his degree in Political Science.

While at Linfield, Steve met Rebecca Bledsoe during a snowball fight their Sophomore year and the couple married in Kent, WA. in July 1963. Prior to marriage, Steve joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1962, attending Officer Candidate school in Yorktown, VA. The couple moved to Juneau, AK. in 1964, where Steve served as an Officer managing Port Security following the Alaska earthquake.

Completing his service as a Lieutenant J.G., Steve and Becky returned to Seattle in 1966, where Steve began his career at Continental, Inc. (now Homestreet Bank) managing the company's Property Management division. After 32 years at Continental, Steve purchased Continental's property portfolio, retained all department staff and formed his own Commercial Real Estate services company, Stephen C. Grey & Associates in 1998.

Steve was an involved member of his Seattle community. He was an Emeritus board member of Crista Ministries, a Deacon at University Presbyterian Church and a member of Seattle Rotary. He served as a Board member of Villa Academy, where he helped to secure the property for the school in 1977 and insured its transition to an independent school.

His love for family was significant and always felt. Steve is survived by his wife of 61 years, Becky, his daughter, Stephanie, his son, Mark and son's wife, Kristina, and his sister, Allene Caddy. His grandchildren, Lauren, Margaux, Kate and Audrey, brought him immense pride and joy. He is preceded in death by his brother, Wheeler Grey, Jr. Steve will be remembered for his "glass half-full" spirit, his humor and being a friend to all. His love of travel, good food, sports and family will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
