LARRY GORDON
1940-09-08 2008-07-05Larry Gordon, a 12 year resident of East Wenatchee, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2008. Larry fought a difficult two year battle with cancer with such dignity, that he was an inspiration to all who knew him. Larry was, for many years, a leader in Junior Achievement and the North Central Washington Gun Club. He was a ham radio operator and technician. He was a member of and a volunteer with the Ham Club, the American Red Cross, the Wenatchee Sportsman's Association and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. He spent many hours pursuing his love of fishing, hunting, golf and the outdoors. He played with Golden Age Softball for over five years. He was also a member of the Slingers Bowling League. He cultivated many longtime friends throughout the years, that he always loved and thought of as family. This includes all the new friends that he made on several trips to Arizona in the last few years. To all of those who stood by him with phone calls and visits and outings, I will be eternally grateful. Larry was preceded in death by a son, Greg. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy; son, Scott and his special friend and companion, Colleen; granddaughter, Ashlyn (Scott's daughter), with whom he made many special memories; and her mother, Jill DeLap, a special friend to us; one cousin, Adrienne; and Judy's cousin, Kathy. Larry lived a long and very full life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His choice was to only remember the happy times, not the sadness of his passing. Donations in his memory may be made to The Wellness Place, 1610 Fifth Street, Wenatchee, WA 98801.
