I knew "Bill" Noble through my parents, Arthur and Jenny Lagerquist who were close friends of Bill's parents, Isabelle and Bob. We had many family dinners together. I was fond of Bill's sister Beverly who was closer in age to myself. And, I definitely thought that Bill Noble was "cool". I remember that "Billy", as I knew him, was the consummate shoe salesman for Nordstrom's, when they were "just" a shoe store. He went on to be one of their buyers, going to Europe and perhaps other places, to pick out styes for the next season. For me, that's where the story ends.
