SUSAN PUTNAM (ANDERSON)

Susan Susie Kay Putnam (Anderson) died unexpectedly on July 28, 2015 in Everett, Washington at the age of 75 from a heart attack. Susie is survived by husband, David Edgar Putnam; children, Jeffrey David Putnam (Mary), Gregory Charles Putnam (Nancy), Michelle Shelley Elenbaas (Daniel), Jennifer Barnes (Jim), and Kathleen Katie Dean (Mike). Susie was preceded in death by her son, Michael Thomas Putnam. Susie is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Susie was born on June 25, 1940 in Seattle, Washington to George Matthew Anderson and Kathleen Daute Schwartz. Susie is also survived by her older sister, Karen Columbro, her younger sister, Patty Bauer, and her twin brothers, Rick and Rob Anderson. Susie met Dave in 1958, quickly fell in love, and married on October 4, 1958 in Seattle, Washington. Susie had an amazing amount of energy and enjoyed being busy. In high school she was a straight-A student, a song leader, and served as the all-city inter-high secretary. As a mother of six children, she not only managed her family and kept an organized home, but also served as the PTA President, served in the community, and in many leadership positions at her church. She woke up early for many years to teach religion classes to the youth, and was always willing to help someone in need. As a grandmother she nurtured the relationships with her grandchildren and was thrilled for the birth of each great-grandchild. She also loved doing family history and worked as a family history specialist for years, not only working on her own family history, but also helping others do their family history work. She served others throughout her life, and many were privileged to be a recipient of her kindness and generosity. She understood what it meant to be charitable. If you wanted something done, you asked Susie. She was responsible, resourceful, organized, and didnt take no for an answer. Susie won a poetry contest in high school, and continued to write poetry that was shared with her family and friends throughout the years. She once bragged that all of the wall hangings in her home were made by her. She seemed to have endless talents and was very creative. She was also strong in her faith and was a great example of what it means to be a Christian. Susie is survived by many friends and family members - all who love her dearly. She truly lived a wonderful life and is leaving behind an amazing legacy. She will be greatly missed. Susie will be interred at Abbey View Memorial Park Cemetery in Brier, Washington on August 1, 2015. The family would like to thank the doctors and hospital staff at Providence Regional Medical Center / Colby Campus for their efforts and dedication.
