1961. I and Ron Long and some other guys were at the beacon light tavern in Lake City and somebody said that they were going to get some girls to come and meet us there. One of those girls was Maija Pipars whom I had seen around at school but we'd never spoken or anything. I was too shy to talk to girls. I introduced myself to her and was flabbergasted when she told me she knew who I was. That was one of the highlights of my social life up till that time anyway. I guess the whole bunch of us had a few beers together and then they went home and we went home and that was that but I never forgot that a girl named Maija Pipars knew who I was. I hope she had a happy life .
