ROBERT (BOB) STROM
1940-08-19 2014-01-14
Robert Strom passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014. He fought the cancer with determination.
He was born in Seattle, August 19, 1940. At age 21, he was drafted into the Army. After boot camp at Fort Ord, he was stationed at Fort Baker near the Golden Gate Bridge. His commanding officer allowed him to go to Squaw Valley on weekends to teach skiing. In addition to the ski instructor certificate, he was the youngest certified National Ski Patroller at Steven's Pass in Seattle and very proud of it.
After the military service, Robert worked in commercial real estate business, in San Francisco, for more than 45 years, opening his own company, Strom & Associates in 1982. He and his wife met in San Francisco, and had the best 30 years together. They did everything together; tennis, skiing, golf, traveling and enjoyed wonderful times with all their friends.
Robert is survived by his mother Lila Strom, Seattle, his brother Don, and Don's wife Jane LaFazio, San Diego.
Robert we all love you and you will always be in our hearts.

Bob and I were friends from Jr. high through his passing. We skied together, went to dances, played poker with my Dad and friends--generally did many things. When I was working with Northwest Airlines I would frequently layover in San Francisco, and we would "do" lunch at some very good pubs. He beat his bout with cancer. He never lost his hair which was amazing. Even the MD's we amazed. He passed very suddenly. This was a shock to his friends. "Ole" was my friend, and I will miss him.
