PATRICK (PAT) DENNIS

Patrick William Dennis was born in Torrance, California on April 9, 1940, to Jane Marion (Chandler) Dennis and William Whiting Dennis, weighing in at just over 10 pounds.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School, Pat worked at Boeing for 6 months, then for 2.5 years for the US Coastal Geodetic Survey. He graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in forestry in 1967.
Pat and Sharon met at church, and married August 5, 1966. After Pat's graduation in 1967 they moved to Coos Bay, then to Wahkiakum County where Pat appraised timber for the assessor's office in Cathlamet. In May 1968, they moved to Elochoman Valley where they established the Dennis Tree Farm and lived together for 55 years.
Pat died peacefully February 20, 2024, at St. John Medical Center in Longview, Washington.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jane Dennis and his 3 uncles, Ray, Jim and Chuck Dennis, and his aunt, Dorothy Mearing.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Sharon Dennis, his cockatoo Perla, his daughter Shawn (Dennis) Andrews and son-in-law Scott, his grandchildren Marly Andrews (Alex Andrews Baum) and Mason Andrews, his brother John Dennis (Eve), and many nieces, cousins, church family, community in Cathlamet and many friends collected over a lifetime.
