Judy May and I dated at Roosevelt and in college. I went to Pacific Lutheran and she went to the UW. After college, I went to the UW Med School and we got maried after the first year. After internship at the Univ of North Caroline we went to NYC where I did residency and fellowship at Columbia University. Then there was the US Army and two years in San Antonio where I ended up teaching at Brook General Hospital and the Univ. of Texas. We lived Boston for two years after that where I taught gastroenterology and did biophysics research at Harvard Medical School. We moved back to Tacoma in 1973 and I practiced until last year. Currently I do a lot of local and national volunteer work and have done volunteer consultation and teaching in northern Vietnam where I will return again this year. Judy worked as an RN at Children's when I was in med school and went back to nursing when the three kids were out of house. She retired several years ago and is unbelievably active as a volunteer in many organizations in Tacoma. We have eight grandchildren and all of them live within a few miles of our house, giving us a chance to get to know them a little bit better than a lot of folks. |

Comment: I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a degree in Education. I taught primary grades in California but later became a retail jewelry store/art gallery owner with my husband George in Carmel, Ca. We are now retired and have returned to the PNW where I enjoy many hours of oil and watercolor painting. I hope to attend the next reunion and see many of my friends again after all these years. |

Thanks to everyone who spent so much time and energy in making our 55th reunion such a very special occasion. I have had so many incredible experiences over the past 55 years. I have been married twice, and have two daughters and two grandchildren, all of whom lived in the Bay Area, CA.. I received my undergraduate degree from UPS in Tacoma, with part of that education at the San Francisco Are Institute, where I met my former husband. In 1970, when our children were young (2 and 5), we trotted of to Peabody, which is the education arm of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where we both did our graduate work. After being in TN for four years, we moved to Helena MT to take positions with the State Dept of Ed. In 1988 I moved back to Kirkland and began a Consulting business working with organizations across the nation in solving school issues and developing action plans with the community and schools taking ownership. I fully retired in 2003. Works with Schools in China during 2005. I met David in 1993 and we married in '94. I was working with a school unit in CA, so I moved from Santa Rosa, CA to VA where he was a civilian with the Dept. of the Navy. While in VA, I was with the State Dept. of Ed. in Baltimore. David now works for Lockheed Martin and spends a portion of his time on the east coast. We live in Port Ludlow, WA as it has a very nice small marina. We would love to have you visit. any time. |
