Well, it’s that time of year again where I will beg you and grovel for your help in donating to STRIDE, my adaptive snow sports program. The 100,000 vertical challenge is a 4 person team where we have to ski 100,000 vertical feet in a day. To accomplish this it takes 87 runs on our mountain, Jiminy Peak.
If you are not familiar with STRIDE we have 18 different programs for kids with either physical or cognitive disabilities. From camping, dance, sled hockey, tennis, a learn to ride bicycle camp and many others. We also have programs for military veterans. I spend my time teaching skiing. I've been volunteering for 25 years and have been on the board for close to 10 years. It’s amazing seeing what these kids can accomplish and see the look on their parents faces when they finish the lesson. I’ve seen many tears.
If you can, please help. We are a 501c3 not for profit. All of our funds are raised through grants and donations.
This is the one and only time I will ask for your help. Any amount would be appreciated. If you can’t I totally understand.
Remember, ski hard and on the edge!
