On February 24th, our team, The Salem Slalomers will attempt to ski a total of 100,000 vertical feet in one day to raise funds to support STRIDE Adaptive Sports. STRIDE provides the opportunity for individuals who live with the challenges of physical and intellectual disabilities to participate in adaptive sports and recreation programs, not only in the winter, but year round!
This organization is very special to me. My son, David, took his first ski lesson with Stride at Jiminy Peak when he was 6 years old. Eleven years later, he spends most Winter weekends bombing down the black diamonds on the mountain and is a member of the Stride Race Team. David also participates in STRIDE Summer camping weekends and White Water rafting trips.
STRIDE Adaptive Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides sport and recreation to individuals with disabilities, with a focus on youth and Wounded Warriors. STRIDE Adaptive Sports is recognized as one of the leading adaptive sport programs in the Northeastern United States.
Your support of my participation in the 100K Challenge means so much to me. Please help our team reach our fundraising goal to support this great organization and the amazing volunteers who make Stride Adaptive Sports possible.
