Edgar was educated in the Birmingham Public School System. After he graduated high school, he entered the Air Force where he became a dedicated Vietnam Veteran. He later was discharged from the Air Force in 1971 and decided to obtain an Associate degree in Criminal Justice from Jefferson State Community College. He later retired from the Defense Department in 1995.

He was joined in marriage on August 28, 1971 to Catheleen Myers. From this union, two daughters, Kimberly, and Kelley, were born.

Edgar departed this life on Thursday, i'7tarch 28, 2002. His legacy will always and forever live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and truly loved him.

He leaves to mourn: a wife, Catheleen; daughters: Kimberly and Kelley; a loving mother, Mrs. Sara F. Osberry of Marietta, Georgia; a brother, Robert K. Osberry (Terry) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; three sisters: Sharon O. West of Marietta, Georgia, Mary O. Tankersley and Carole Lynn Howard, both of Birmingham, Alabama; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and very special friends.
