Mrs. Turner was born in Sarasota, Florida on March 4, 1944, her family moved to Tampa when she was very young. She was educated in Hillsborough County Schools, and was a graduate of Middleton High School class of 1962. She worked for Clerk of the Circuit Court for Hillsborough County for over 20 years.

Betty was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for over 20 years, where she served in the Gospel Choir, the Adult choir, and the Jenkins Ensemble.

On Wednesday, October 20, 2010, after battling a long illness, the Lord called Betty from this earthly place to a home on high.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mr. Charlie Turner Jr., her parents Mr. Daniel & Mrs. Ida Myers, a sister JoAnn Myers, and brother Joseph Myers.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Bridgette Campbell; two sons: Randall D. Simmons and Ricky C. Turner; one step-daughter, Michelle Turner Gilbert (Earl); two step-sons, Ronald "Red" Turner and Michael Turner; one granddaughter Crolius Williams. Four sisters: Mary Myers, Janet Myers Smiley (James), Joyce Myers Bludsaw (George), and Melinda Myers Hines. Two brothers: Daniel W. Myers Jr. and Anthony D. Myers. Six nieces: Delvie Myers, Janine Smiley Rollison (Al), Danielle Myers, Cecilia Walker, Angela N. Bludsaw, Amelia Bludsaw Winters (Kelly Sr.), and one nephew Jeffrey Smiley. One aunt Christine Harrison, one sister in law Rudine Hopkins (Adrian); one brother 1n law, Clarence Manning Harriet); and a host of other loving great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
