Lillie Dunn was born on August 25, 1948 in Selma, Alabama. She was the seventh child of the late Aldrich Jemison and Julia Mae Myers. Lillie accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. Earl M. Brown al the First Baptist Church in Ecorse, Michigan. Lillie joined Morning View Baptist Church under the pastorate of her uncle, Rev. Myers for 17 years. In 1994, she joined Third New Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. E. L Branch. "I greatly loved my pastor, his wife (Lanell) and the Third New Hope Family.

Lillie graduated from Southwestern High School on June 14, 1966. After graduation, Lillie attended Wayne County Community College. In September of 1966, she became employed with Michigan Bell which was changed to SBC Ameritech. Lillie retired from Ameritech in 1995 after working there for 30 years.

In 1969 Lillie married William Dunn. To this union two wonderful daughters were born, NeCole LaShai and Nina LaTryce. "Raising them was difficult but I realized that with the help of God I could do it, and we did it !" Lillie was also blessed to raise her twin sister's (Willie Ruth Rogan) children john and Anita when she was no longer able to care for them.

Growing up in a large family Lillie learned early how to become self-sufficient and boisterous. Her voice was commanding in which she had no issues using when she believed in something. Lillie enjoyed stimulating conversations where she could express herself to everyone she encountered. She was a loving person who valued her friends dearly, enjoyed bowling, crocheting, and reading.

"I leave to cherish my memory: my children: Shai, Nina, Anita, John and Laurence; four brothers, Aldrich Jemison (preceded in death), Rufus Jemison, Robert (Van) Jemison, Jesse Jemison (preceded in death); two sisters, Ida Howard, my twin Willie Rogan (preceded in death); and a host of cousins, relatives and friends."
