My memories of Doug go back to University Park Elementary School. Don't recall him much from TJ. But even after all these years I remember him as pleasant, enthusiastic, cheerful, high-energy, friendly -- and liked by all. I recall his enthusiasm for playing the trumpet, and his analysis of the greats such as Herb Alpert, Doc Severinsen, and Al Hirt. In fact, I still have the Herb Alpert LP he recommended that I get. I'm very sorry to learn he's gone.

Stevenson went by "Doug" and was a good friend back in the day. In fact he was a groomsman at my wedding in 1977, and Doug and his girlfriend at the time, Courtney, hold a special place in my adolescent heart - great times were had by all!
