This tribute was written by Tim Murphy. Bernadita (Beni) Martinez grew up in Colorado and later moved to Nevada to be near her Mother who relocated to Las Vegas. Beni went on to move to California where she became a Certified Addiction Counselor. She met, fell in love with Tim Murphy, a fellow counselor and they were married on the beach in Malibu California in 1988. Beni went on to earn a teaching credential and taught both Middle and high school in Southern California for the next 20 years. She remarried in the mid 90's and moved back to Colorado after retiring as a school teacher. Beni will always be remembered for her beauty, her loving personality and her absolutely wonderful sense of humor.
