David and I grew up together in the same neighborhood, Park Plaza South, near Stevenson Elementary. We went through elementary school at Stevenson together. Then Byrd Junior High, and then Tulsa Memorial. David was Jewish. I was Christian. Yet, somehow we hit it off and were good friends all throughout our school years and even through college before he enlisted in the Marines. David would either be at my house or me at his many days of the month. If our parents were looking for us, they would call each other first thing just to see if we were together. Like many friends do, we lost touch over the years. But one day out of the blue, David called me from Arizona and we were able to get caught up on what each other had been up to over the years. He ended up in real estate and I in insurance. The last time I remember speaking to him he said something to the effect that life is short and we need to make sure and get our relationships in order. Next thing I heard was that he had passed away. So long my friend.
