Thomas Nelson Wright, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on November 15, 2022 at the age of 67. Tom was born on April 24, 1955 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Tommy Ray Wright and Marcia Thompson Wright. Early in his childhood, his family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma. There, Tom met his wife, Susan Williams, through mutual friends. They were engaged a few months after meeting and married on August 18,1979. They celebrated 43 years together last summer before Tom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on September 29, 2022.

In 1978, Tom was hired at Marshall Supply Company (Marsuco) in Tulsa. A few years later, he and Susan were transferred to Fort Worth, TX and Tom began working in outside sales. Eventually, they were relocated back to Tulsa. In 1985, Tom was hired at Anilam Electronics Corp. to work in sales, and he initially covered the 10 states surrounding Oklahoma. It wasn't long before his career accelerated and he was promoted to district sales manager, regional sales manager, vice president of sales, and eventually CEO. Tom's career took his family from Tulsa to Coral Springs, FL, and finally to Bemus Point, NY. His career put him in the air traveling across the US and the world. After 25 years at Anilam (later Acu-Rite Companies Inc. after a merger), he and Susan finally settled in Houston, Texas (2010) where he worked for Rex Supply Co. (later PTSolutions after a merger) until his retirement.

In December 2021, Tom retired. In the years leading up to retirement, Tom talked about returning to college, to finish what he started almost 50 years ago. He had many other things he wanted to enjoy in retirement, including: golf, guitar, grandkids and his red wine (without any work stress). As a child, Tom took guitar lessons and played in a band in middle school. He and Susan went to a music store together on September 17, and Tom bought the Martin Guitar he had always dreamed of owning. Sadly, he was only able to play it a few times. He and Susan were looking forward to playing many rounds of golf together. After his retirement, Tom was playing as many as 5 days a week. He soon realized that may be too much and dropped down to 4 days a week. He was looking forward to traveling frequently to visit all 6 of their grandchildren. He absolutely loved being a grandfather and his grandkids sure loved their “Pop.”

Tom was passionate about reading; he had a huge book collection totaling over 800 books! He was a music fanatic and was well known for his love of The Beatles. He visited Abbey Road in London and proudly hung a picture of himself walking across Abbey Road in the game room of his Houston home. He loved to talk about all things business and was always offering advice and words of wisdom to his three children. He was passionate about education and strongly encouraged each to pursue and complete a college education. He was so proud of everything his family accomplished.

Tom is best known for his love of people and his ability to make everyone he met feel special. He is preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Susan, and his three children, Matt (and Melannie) of Orlando, FL; Drew (and Stacy) of Orchard Park, NY; Megan (and John) Karlish of Tulsa, OK and his sister Susan (and Steve) Gordon of Trinity, TX. He has 6 beautiful grandchildren: Charlotte, Oliver, Parker, Olivia, William, and Mason.
