What is the purpose of the walkathon?
The main goal of the walk is to bring the community together in a single event to enjoy the park. It will raise funds for the Friends of Birch State Park for continuous enhancement of Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. 

 

Can I run, bring a pet or a stroller?
Participants have the option to walk or run, and strollers are permitted for added convenience. However, it is important that all dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the event. Please be aware that the use of bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, and the like are not permitted. 

 

Is there parking?

Ample parking is available within the park, clearly marked for your convenience.

 

What time does it start?

Registration will begin at 6:30 and will be open until 7:15 am. It’s important to note that the park gates will close at 7:15am. The walk-a-thon is scheduled to start promptly at 7:30.

 

Any activities after the walkathon?

An after-party will take place on t Terramar Lawn.

 

What happens in inclement weather?

The event will take place regardless of weather conditions unless there is a significant natural occurrence that poses a major risk. 

 

How long is the walk?

The walk is 2 loops to the scenic 2-miles encompassing the park, so 4 miles in total.

 

Where do I pick up my shirt?

Paid participants can pick up their shirts at the Terramar House located within the park. Shirt collection will be available from Tuesday, October 31st to Thursday, November 2nd between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm and day of the event 6:30 am-7:15 am.
