He preceded in death by his grandparents, Guadalupe & Urbana Cortez and Armando & Modesta Trevino; brother, Miguel Cortez and cousin, Lucinda Saldana.

He is survived by his parents, Miguel & Carmen Cortez; beloved wife, Christine Ann Cortez; children, Ashley Marie Cortez & fiance, Elvis Fernandez, Catalina Cortez, Mariann Elizabeth Cortez and Able Cortez, Jr.; sister, Diana Cortez; mother-in-law, Barbara Stegemeyer; siblings-in-law, Patricia Rodriguez (Enrique), James Stegemeyer Jr. (Gina), Justin Stegemeyer and Joseph Stegemeyer and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Able worked at Blackmon Mooring Company for over 10 years. He had a big passion for fishing but most important was his family. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
