COVID: We have designed all weekend events to reduce the risk of COVID transmission (e.g., outdoors), are continually monitoring COVID in the community, and will follow our local health department's recommendations and requirements.
We are planning an informal gathering of classmates and their guests at Picnic Point on Friday, August 26th, between 11 AM and 3 PM.
Where are we meeting? We have reserved two fire rings (see B below):
#3 – located at the beach on the north side of the Point (see C to right). Stop here on your way out.
#6 – located at the end of the Point (see D below). We’ll plan for food and beverages at this site.
What to bring? Walking shoes and long pants (in case of mosquitoes). Bring a swimsuit and towel if you want to swim.
What is provided? If you’d like to have lunch, RSVP the survey link below, and we’ll bring a variety of sub sandwiches, chips, fruit, and drinks. We’ll ask for a $5 contribution to cover these costs.
How do I get there? You can bike, take a free bus (the UW 80), or drive. Parking is available at 2003 University Bay Drive, Madison WI 53706 (see A to right). Payment is required. Cost: $95/player– Includes 18-hole golf, cart (2 golfers per cart), practice range in advance if desired. Refreshments will be available on a cash basis.
Format: 4-person team/2-person Best Ball - All four players will play their own ball. The two lowest scores per hole will count toward a team score. OR Scramble: All four players work together to play best shot.

West High 50th Reunion – Gathering on the Memorial Union Terrace

We are planning an informal gathering of classmates and their guests at the Memorial Union Terrace on Friday, August 26th, between 5 PM and 10 PM
Where are we meeting? We will arrive early and try to grab some tables on the “Sunset Deck” or in the area above the “Sunset Lounge.” You can access this area from the north end of Park Street. See the red circle on the map below.

Where to rendezvous? The Farmers’ Market can be busy on a Saturday morning in August. To help connect with other classmates, we’ll meet at the “Information Booth” between 8:00 and 8:15 am. Presentation: 2020 Referenda - Future Ready* by Melanie Thiel

11:00 AM—11:15 AM: Gather at the Ash Street entrance of West
11:15 AM—12:30 PM: West High Auditorium. Melanie Thiel** will talk about the 2020 Referenda - Future Ready and what’s happening at West High. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
12:30 – 1:00 PM: Free time to reconvene outdoors, walk around the neighborhood, get lunch, etc. Note that given the ongoing construction, we will not be able walk around inside the building.
*On November 3, 2020, Madison voters approved an operating referendum and facilities referendum, of $317 million, to support the most pressing building projects in support of the district’s academic vision. The goal is to lift Madison up as a thriving, equitable, and inclusive community for generations to come. What's planned? This will be a very informal event, with lots of room for people to relax, mingle, and share a meal.
What to bring? If you are able, you can either bring a dish to pass, or your own food and beverages. But don't worry if you don't, as there will be plenty of food and drink for everyone to enjoy.
What about rain? There's room on the porches, and we'll have a tent in case of rain. It might help to bring a raincoat.
