Mark Vincent Quinn

Mark Vincent Quinn died suddenly at his home in Chapel Hill, NC on May 28, 2017.

Mark was born on September 13, 1976 in Flemington, NJ and grew up Burlington, NC.

He is survived by his 3 ½ year old daughter and his Greatest Joy, Magnolia (Maggie) Harper Quinn of Cary, NC. His loving relationship with Maggie was the focus of his life. He was the son of Nancy Lee Vanderbilt (Quinn) McClearn (Albany, NY) and Daniel Matthew Quinn (Christy) of Cobleskill, NY.

He is also survived by his brothers Matthew Joseph Quinn of Winterville, NC, Kenan Dow Quinn, sister, Abi Elizabeth Quinn and step-sister Taylor Eileen Gillespie of Cobleskill, NY. He is also is survived by his loving niece, Elizabeth JenniLee Quinn of Kitty Hawk, NC. He also had many uncles, aunts, cousins too numerous to list as well. His deceased grandparents, Robert Vincent Vanderbilt (Holiday, Florida), and Emma Crouse (Vanderbilt) Hoffman (Broadway, NJ), Jennie Elizabeth Juinta (Quinn) Snyder (Glen Bernie, MD) and Thomas Joseph Quinn (Netcong, NJ) and Arnold William Snyder (Glen Bernie, MD).

Mark graduated from Walter Williams High School in Burlington, NC and attended East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. During college summer breaks, Mark and his brother would move to Myrtle Beach, SC and work the summer in the food services industry where Mark developed his passion for cooking. He became an accomplished chef and was most recently associated with Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club in Durham NC.

Singing was one of Mark's many talents. He was a member of the Burlington Boys Choir and traveled extensively with the choir to perform at such venues as The White House, Washington, DC, and Duke Chapel in Durham, NC, Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC along with many other locations.

Mark was previously a member of Front Street United Methodist Church in Burlington, NC. His faith in his God was abundant and a daily part of his life.

It is said: “We meet our God at the time of our death.” Our family is confident that in his short time in heaven, he has met the Gods of all religions and they are on a first name basis.

Mark will be forever missed by countless friends and all whose life he touched.

The family will receive guests starting at 1:00PM on Saturday June 10th with services starting at 2:00PM at Donaldson Funeral Services, 396 West Street, Pittsboro, NC  27312          (919) 542-3057.
