
Linda Adams
1952-08-05 2024-02-14Linda Shunneson Adams, 71, passed away peacefully on Ash Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Her husband of 51 years and family were by her side.
Born August 5, 1952, in Chicago, IL, as the first of four children to Doris W. and Glenn A. Shunneson, Linda moved to Dallas, TX to attend Southern Methodist University where she met and married Donald C. Adams. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas, Arlington and Masters of Music from Texas Woman's University.
Linda was a loving wife and mother, infusing a contagious, creative spirit and devout faith into the lives of family and friends. She shared her love of music as a music educator at The Weekday School of University Park United Methodist Church, a 50-plus year member of the UPUMC Chancel Choir, 30-plus year director of their Cherub Choir, and as a member of the Dallas Bach Society and the Orpheus Chamber Singers of Dallas.
Linda was a committed volunteer with The Stewpot of Dallas and prayer warrior amongst her extended circle of friends. Her faith and courage, in light of prolonged medical challenges, emanated as quiet grace.
Linda is survived by her husband Judge Don Adams, children Shawn C. Adams (Christine Clancey), Colonel Ryan W. Adams (Frances), Katie M. Adams (Tony Schaeffer), her mother Doris W. Shunneson, grandchildren Avarie F. Adams, Dempsey B. Adams, and Graeme Penfold, along with siblings G. Allen Shunneson, Jr. (Chris), Eileen S. Kang (Sherman), Elsa Shunneson Lewis and their children. She is predeceased by her father, Glenn A. Shunneson.
