Joseph was one of the sons of the late Rev. Edgar H. Kemp and Hattie Jefferies Kemp.
Joseph was born December 19,1908 and died October 30, 1993 in Brevard, North Carolina.
Joseph was married to affectionately known "Aunt Sis" until her death. No children were born to this union.
Four sisters Margaret Macdonald and Martha Yarbrough both of Greensboro, NC. Mary Peace of Philadelphia, PA and Norta Mitchell of Riverside, CA. One brother Edgar Kemp. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Prior to his move and retirement Joseph was employed at Ocean Side Children's Hospital, Ocean Side , New York.
Before his decline in health, he was faithful as a trustee, Deacon and Head Usher at Majority Baptist Church, St. Albans, New York.
He loved his church and members. If you ever went to visit in his early years, he would share stories of.his works in the church.
