7 years ago this March I reconnected with Vince Priblo, my Westside childhood friend & fellow BCHS 1982 classmate, and he gifted me with this small version of his larger 4’x4’ “Oswego Borealis” that I had admired from afar for a long time. I eventually bought the larger one which is displayed prominently in my living room. It’s the first site one sees when walking through my front door and I think of him fondly every time I walk in the house. I also got to meet his lovely wife and kids at the time. A wonderful famil. May he rest in peace.

Hi all! I can't really get my mind around it: it's been 40 years since we graduated from Central. Wow. On the one hand it seems like another lifetime, and on the other it feels like yesterday. My kid is 20 years old and is a sophomore in college. Their high school experience was so much different than mine was, when we didn't have social media, computers, phones, email, etc. It seems like a simpler time back then. I'm sort of grateful that we didn't have those things. At the same time I don't remember any real sense of danger. We used to have parties at each other's houses (when the parents were away!), hitchhike or walk all over Binghamton in the dark, going to bars (Thirsty's, Gondorf's, etc), etc. I think if Xander had done any or all of those things I would have had their head! My fondest memories from our high school days involved being in the band, orchestra, marching band, stage band, etc. I think in most high schools the band people were geeks but I remember us being quite the partiers. Sneaking Tickle Pink in bota bags underneath our uniforms before, during and after our halftime shows, leaving band camp to sip a few Genesee beers across the street or at Rec Park, etc. I hope you will all be motivated to share some stories and photographs here so we can all share. Looking forward to seeing everyone in June!
