John Mark Romine

John Mark Romine,22 of Hope passed away at 2:43 p.m. Friday Dec. 5, 2008 at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis.

John was a student at Purdue University and had just received his Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Economics . He was a member of the FarmHouse Fraternity where he had served as Vice-President of recruitment. He was a 2005 graduate of Columbus East High School and a member of FFA where he received the American Degree and SAE in Agricultural Entrepreneurship for Grain Production. He was also an FFA Youth Agriculture Exchange Program participant and received a trip to Brazil. He was a farmer and worked on the family farms.

John was a member of Newbern United Methodist Church where he had
various youth leadership positions and also attended West Lafayette First United Methodist Church. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 559. He had been a 10 year member of 4-H and had served as a Jr Leader. He was a Indiana State Youth Representative for the National Rural Electric Cooperative. He was a member of Belted Galloway Beef Assoc. and loved to show cattle. He had also been working on his first degree at the Hope Masonic Lodge.

John was an activist for the National Bone Marrow Donor Registration Program and was a great outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family and friends.

John was born in Columbus on June 12, 1986. He was the son of Mark Steven and Carol Hoy Romine.
He is survived by his parents , sisters Sara (Mitchell) Tuell and Amy Romine , grandparents Clyde and Kathryn Hoy all of Hope; aunts and uncles Samuel Hoy,
Robert(Cheryl) Romine,Dale Pope, Marlena Sue (Mike) Gardner, Dave (Twila) Romine,
Mary (Gilbert) Pardieck and many cousins.
John was preceded in death by grandparents Horace and Maxine Romine and an aunt, Katrina Pope.
