Alexander Conrad

Birth Date: 1987-01-17
Graduation year: 2005
Deceased Date: 2017-07-03
Obituary:
Alexander Scot Conrad, 30, died Monday, July 3, 2017.

He was born Jan. 17, 1987, to Elizabeth Wetherald (Ed Wetherald) and Scot Conrad, to whom he never gave a moment’s rest but whom he kept laughing with an endless supply of jokes, impressions and the occasional prank.

He graduated from Columbus North High School, where he played clarinet in the Sound of North marching band and was a pain-in-the-butt in the guidance counselor’s office.

He is survived by his younger brother, Andrew Conrad (Sam Wittgen), with whom he shared his love of basketball and to whom he showcased endless patience and love, despite the fact that Andrew’s birth demoted Alex to the “middle child” position.

He is survived by his older sister, Lora Conrad (Michael Carey), whom he referred to as the Robin to his Batman, even though she is older and that should have made him the sidekick, but she eventually let that one go. He was a more convincing caped crusader anyway.

He is also survived by his cousin, Bryan Unruh, whom he pestered constantly, but only because he thought Bryan was so cool. Finally, he leaves behind the world’s most devoted grandparents, Jon and Janet Carr.

Alex was no superhero, because superheroes are indestructible, “and you can’t be brave if you’re indestructible.”

Alex was brave.

Joshua Eckelman

Birth Date: 1986-02-21
Graduation year: 2005
Deceased Date: 2010-11-27
Obituary:
Joshua Timothy Eckelman February 21, 1986 - November 27, 2010, 24.

On Saturday evening of November 27, 2010 Joshua was received into the loving arms of his Dad, his grandfather and his Heavenly Father.

Josh adored his family. He was the light of his Mother and Fathers lives from the day he was born. He loved his two big sisters, Krissy and Amber, who spent much of their time taking care of their baby brother. He could also be found with his brother Scott Romine. They had a lot of fun together getting into trouble from the time they were little boys. To help someone made Josh happy. He took care of everyone around him, especially his family. When his Dad died, Josh moved home from I.U. at age 20 to take over the family business. He made everyone laugh, if you knew him, you most certainly have a funny story to tell about him. Josh enjoyed being outdoors, racing Harley Davidson Motorcycles, watching ESPN and CSI while wrapped up in a blanket eating amazing amounts of candy. He could also be found playing trucks with his nephew, Jacob or chasing after his niece Alex who he loved dearly.

Josh was an excellent basketball player and coached youth basketball for years at St. Peters Lutheran Church (where he was a life-long member). Joshua was an intelligent, funny, charismatic, caring individual who is loved by many. There are too many stories, too many laughs for him to ever be forgotten.

Joshua son of Timothy Joe and Denise Lewis Eckelman. Survivors include his mother; sisters, Amber M. (Aaron) Mast of Bloomington and Kirsten D. Eckelman of Columbus; grandparents, Maynard and Aleta Lewis of Columbus; niece and nephew, Alexandria and Jacob Mast; several aunt and uncles; and close friend, Scott M. Romine of Columbus.
