I was often given favor for being a quiet, 'good', student. During our senior trip, the bus ride to Orlando was unbearably cold, making it extremely uncomfortable for everyone. After a wonderful time with my classmates, as we prepared to return to Augusta, I decided to take a blanket from the hotel room to ensure a more comfortable journey back. Noticing me with the blanket, several other students followed suit. However, the chaperones were furious when they discovered our actions. They informed us that upon our arrival, we would have to provide our names and face charges to repay the hotel for the blankets, along with additional punishment for taking them. Sitting at the front of the bus, I was the first to disembark and immediately confessed to taking the blanket. I was prepared to pay the fine and accept whatever punishment was deemed necessary. But to my surprise, the teacher interrupted my confession, saying, "Don't worry about it, you're okay." He then proceeded to scold the student behind me about the same issue I had just been pardoned for.
