Did you know there were 372 of us in the Class of 1973?

All told, there were 372 of us that belonged to the Class of 1973 at some point in our school career.  Some of us transferred, some of us chose to leave before graduation and did a variety of interesting things, and about 300 of us walked across Pop Keeney Field on June 1, 1973.   Sadly, some of our classmates have passed away.  But we all made up the Class of 1973!  This is a place for those of us lucky to be alive .... lucky to have the chance to gather.

Please register below....Give us some information about yourself so we can have some data as we walk into the Reunion...  no one wants to feel overwhelmed!   Catch us up on a few details so we can start a conversation!  Photos are highy recommended!   (If you would like to have a  scanned copy of your Senior Yearbook photo to post on this page, just let me know....shoot me a text. Comment: Back in 1972 Kathy Purcell had 6 of us come to her office and asked us if we’d like to try for an Engineering scholarship. I think we all asked – what’s that?

Funny, but I think 5 of us ended up in an Engineering field. I enrolled in General Engineering at the U of W then transferred at the end of the year into the Aero department.

I graduated from the U of W in 1978 and went to work for The Boeing Company. I spent the last 35 years of that career in Experimental Flight Test. Yes, I was involved in the initial test and certification of every model from the 737 through the 787.

Almost all of our testing was to validate model design and certification to FAA Part 25, although we did do some engine development testing under contract with the engine companies (all 4 of them). As well, we occasionally went to a customer (i.e. an airline) to do certification testing of upgrades.

Our testing was designed to go out to edge of the flight envelope +x%.

In the Propulsion and Aero groups, we did everything from the monotonous boring holes in the sky for Aero Nautical Air Miles and Engine Performance testing (similar in many ways) to shutting down and restarting an engine to making the engine surge (sounds like a car engine backfire) to airplane stalls to Negative G tests to flying on a "Hot day" to verify the engine undercowl and oil cooling and Fuel Heating systems.

A great career that I really enjoyed!

I retired in June 2020 after 43 years.
So that was the career...

Less words, but more important-
In 1987 I married Sandi Michaels who I had met at church, and we moved to Fall City.
We have 2 kids (no grandkids).

After retiring, we moved to East Wenatchee, Wa. in November 2020.
