Sally Faye Day Caplinger MANSFIELD--Sally Faye Caplinger, 77, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2020.
Sally was born Jan. 10, 1943, in Texarkana, Texas, to the late Mary F. Hall Day and Horace A. Day. She was a former member of St. James Episcopal Church in Texarkana. She was a former Miss Texarkana contestant in the early '60s and had the opportunity to perform as a talented pianist.
Sally had a Master's Degree in Mathematics and was a devoted school teacher. She taught AP Calculus at L.D. Bell High School for 30 years, 29 of those years in the same classroom. Sally was an avid golfer and she and her husband, Jerry, were current members of Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield. She also loved her animals, growing roses, and was an accomplished quilter.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, Jerry T. Caplinger of Mansfield; along with her former students; extended family members; and a host of friends.
