Brian Wilson
1966-11-28 2024-07-06
Brian Alan Wilson, 57, of Lonoke, left this earth to be at peace and to be made whole by the Lord on July 6, 2024. He was born November 28, 1966 in Little Rock. Brian was the first born and only son of Odis Blaine and Elizabeth Dian Wilson. Brian was one big-hearted man who never met a stranger and had a love like no other we knew for mother nature and animals. He was often more comfortable in the woods or on a mountaintop. His youth was spent hunting, fishing, playing baseball and football and being one of the fastest runners in his school! And, like many, getting into mischief!
His young adulthood took him on many grand adventures throughout Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, California and Utah. Brian obtained his Culinary Degree at OSU-Okmulgee in Oklahoma and went on to be line chef at many quality restaurants and resorts. He loved the woods so much that eventually he took to the mountains of the Pacific Northwest where he spent many years in the logging communities-honing his skills as a logger/hooker, creating in the kitchen or camp fire, exploring nature and writing poetry.
He loved the way the sky looked at night or at first light and would often write profound poetry while under the stars or at sunrise, sharing his deep reverence for how God created the earth, the sky, the mountains, the rain and how those thoughts made him yearn for more endless beauty.
He lived a life of travel and adventure, many times too fast and furious for most to keep up with, and until his last breath we have no doubt his heart was in the woods gazing up through the sun-streaked branches or on a peak or bluff reaching for the stars and asking God for His hand.
Brian is survived by his father, Odis Blaine Wilson of Vilonia (Cabot) and his mother, Elizabeth Dian (Jones) Evans of Cabot; stepfather, Darvin Evans of Fort Worth, Texas (Cabot); sisters, Ashley Wilson Kilgore (Kevin Kilgore) of Rogers, Arkansas and Kortne Wilson Bongiorno (Eric Bongiorno) of Gilbert, Arizona; nieces and nephews, Blaine Wilson, Bailey Grubbs, Payton Kilgore, Paxton Kilgore and Damian Bongiorno; aunts and uncles, Bernell and the late Ray Wilson, Valla Boyd and the late Buddy Boyd (Vilonia), Mary Drysdale and Ted Drysdale (Vilonia), Evon Nealey and Scott Nealey (El Paso), Eugene Jones and Sue Jones (Cabot) and the late Marty Wilson; grandparents, the late Harold & Mary Jones (Cabot) and Raymond and Margaret Wilson (Vilonia), as well as many cousins whom he loved & many friends who meant the world to him.
Many heartfelt thanks go out to the wonderfully caring nurses, staff & doctors at Springhill Baptist Medical Center (ICU) in North Little Rock for helping Brian and our family feel truly cared for during these last 2 weeks. Sincerest gratitude for the love, prayers and support of friends and family.
