Silas was born January 12, 1949, in Ft. Worth, Texas, the son of Silas Lester Kennemer, Sr. and Della Tidmore Kennemer. He was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1967. He later graduated from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, East Texas State University in Commerce and the University of North Texas in Denton. In 1976, Silas married Linda Wilson in Wills Point. He began his teaching career at Clarksville High School, Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Dallas and L.D. Bell High School in H.E.B. He taught English, Speech, Drama, Theater and Marketing classes, retiring in 2004, from L.D. Bell High School. Silas was a great teacher and influenced the lives of many young adults. Family was very important to him, especially getting together on Sunday’s for what he called “family grazing”. He enjoyed music and visiting with teacher retirees. Silas lived in Ft. Worth prior to moving to Keller in 2016.

Preceded in death by his father, Silas Lester Kennemer, Sr.; mother, Della Kennemer Shelton; step-father, Buster Shelton and a step-sister, Eve Shelton Bentley.

Silas is survived by his wife, Linda Kennemer, of Keller; two sons, Carlton Dale Narramore, of Keller and Richard Terry Narramore, of Ft. Worth; two daughters, Melissa Narramore Barnes, of Ft. Worth and Sarah Melinda Summers, of Kentucky; brother, Gary Crawford, of Quinlan; sister, Linda Leath & husband, Gene, of Wills Point; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson
