John Paul Ramsey, 61, of Austin, Texas died February 10, 2017 from pancreatic cancer. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends.
John was born October 14, 1955 in Austin, Texas. He graduated from McCallum High School in 1974. He then graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in December 1978 with a BBA. He started working at Ramsey and Ramsey CPA Firm after graduating. He received his CPA Certificate in May of 1980. Later on he formed his own private corporation and helped many clients with their financial concerns for over 38 years.
On April 18, 1981, he married Rebecca Jean Gray. He and Becki were married a little over 35 years. They have two boys, Gregory and Kenneth. John loved his church, family and friends. He helped his church with financial matters, taught Bible classes, and acted in children ministry programs. He accompanied mission trips and helped with Boy Scouts. Both of his Boys achieved their Eagle Scout rank.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Ray Ramsey and Doniece Faye Odom Ramsey, and his brother David Ray Ramsey, all of Austin.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ramsey, his son Gregory Alan Ramsey and wife Laura of Duncanville, Texas, and his son Kenneth Andrew Ramsey and wife Doreen of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is also survived by his sister Vickie Kay Alford and husband Norman of Round Rock, Texas. He also leaves behind other extended family members and lifelong friends.
