Jose Angel Reyes of Austin, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 14th at the age of 68. He was born on May 3, 1955 in Austin, Texas where he grew up and lived almost his entire life.
He graduated from A.N. McCallum H.S. in 1974. He worked as a sales manager for a local tortilla factory until he retired. He was actively involved in the Baptist Church, music, and his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, Ludivina Belia Reyes, and his first wife, Petra Ann Gonzalez Reyes, brothers-in-law Kevin LaBuhn and Rick LaBuhn.
He is survived by his current wife Donna LaBuhn Reyes, and his children, Joseph Michael Reyes, Cecilia Patrice Reyes Egan (and husband John), and Matthew Nicholas Reyes, and step-children Kenneth Reynolds (and wife Kristin), Angie Reynolds, and Bobby Rowley (and wife Lindsey), and eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Domingo H. Reyes, and siblings, Sylvia Reyes Vela (and husband Santiago), Magdalena Reyes, and Esther Reyes Mendoza (and husband Mike). He is also survived by brothers-in-law Steve LaBuhn and Mike LaBuhn, sisters-in-law Debra LaBuhn Aleman and husband Charlie, Diane LaBuhn and Jennie LaBuhn, eighteen nieces and nephews and many many cousins.
The family would like to thank Pacific Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Onion Creek Baptist Church, 8214 Riverside Dr. in Austin, TX. on Saturday, Nov. 18th at 12:00 pm. A meal will follow after the service.
