Konrad P. Wissler Feb 7, 1956-Dec 22, 2012
We remember our friend Konrad Wissler. A native Austinite, who went all the way through Austin schools-Highland Park, Murchison, McCallum and was in the 1st graduating class of the "new" Anderson High School in 1974.
Konrad continued on and graduated from Sam Houston State before returning to Austin. A long time pawnbroker (before it was TV cool) Konrad knew about many things from guns to stereos, tools to jewelry. He was very much about the "art of the deal". A lover of most things with wheels, from his high school Plymouth Satellite (totaled when he was broadsided) and Mustang to his hot rod Camaro and his wickedly fast motorcycles, Konrad loved to tinker.
He was literally struck by lightening while riding to California in the 1980 's but survived with but a few injuries even though lightening is frequently fatal. He enjoyed multiple trips to Road Atlanta for the SCCA runoffs, a mere 16 hour straight through drive, and also enjoyed fishing on the family property near Lexington as well as family trips to Colorado.
A proud uncle, he spent the last few years in Conroe near his father, mother, brother Gerry and sister Neysa and 4 nephews. Konrad had a kind heart and a gentle soul & we remember him as a great friend. John Gres and Paul Douglas and the Anderson Class of '74
