E. Frank Keathley passed away on April 14, 2009 at his home in Austin. He was born in Martin, Tennessee on March 17, 1914 to Emlous B. and Clara Pate Keathley. Frank proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He received degrees in education from S.W.T.S.U and U.T.- Austin.

Frank taught algebra and geometry at McCallum High School for many years. Frank and his wife, Gladys were active members of Hyde Park Baptist Church for over 45 years, where Frank served as a Deacon and Church Teller. He was an accomplished pianist and played for several Sunday School departments.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Manetta Stroble and Opal Wheeler. He is survived by his wife of 71 years and three daughters, Fran Carter, Joan Emmer and Mary Jo Nichols, numerous in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many special friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Hyde Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Somerset-Heickman Family Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. in Somerset, TX.
