On Saturday, September 9, 2023, Moore Engineering hosted its 10th annual Crabs & Cruises Caring for Children and Charity Event in support of Save the Children and The Children’s Home Society of NJ, and raised approximately $6,400! Sponsorships from valued business partners and public donations made this possible.
The event started with a morning walk around the beautiful Cooper River in Collingswood, NJ. Unfortunately, rain and thunder was forecasted for the day and the party kicked off to a later start than usual, but the event saw a lovely (if not hot) afternoon of good food and good company. While early attendees tackled the walk around the Cooper River, guests arrived to check out the food and children took over the bounce slide.
This year, MES introduced more raffles and games to entertain our guests. Questions such as “what is MES known for” and “what is the coefficient of friction” received numerous silly guesses and winners received the new MES sweatshirts and T-shirts. There were numerous participants in the candy raffles, and many happy kids walked away with goodies their parents probably tried to hide later that day.
The forecasted rain did come, and it came with a vengeance. Thankfully, it waited until the party had a good few hours of fun, games, sailing, and kayaking. And to be honest, the sudden rain was a much appreciated break in the intense heat of the day. The last of the party-goers waited out the rain until they could safely make it to their cars and we were all rewarded with a cool evening (and only minor flooding).
