Janet Triplett

2000-04-18
Janet died of a brain aneurysm. Sue Johnson spoke with Jan’s Mother Maxine who was very glad to hear that our class is remembering Janet and wanted to know more about her. Jan went to Dana College in Nebraska after NA and met her future husband Tom Triplett there. She became an HR department manager at several companies. Jan and Tom have two beautiful daughters - Jessica and Rebecca. At age 46, Jan had a brain aneurysm while attending an 800 meter race for her youngest daughter Rebecca, which she won. Jan was surrounded by her husband and friends who tried to revive her.

It took me almost 10 years to realize that one of my best friends in high school had passed away. I was so shocked that a person as sweet as Janet could be gone. We became friends in our senior year and had many escapades together. Her Mom was such a wonderful and cool Mom who accepted so many of her friends into her home. Her Mom was a hairdresser and gave me my first shag haircut so I could be in style at college. She moved away and so did I. It's so crazy that we assume that people are always going to be around forever at that age. Janet was such a sweet person and a wonderful friend. I'm sorry that I didn't know her in her later years. If anyone has any contact information for her Mom, please email me. Thanks!
