Mike was most recently living in Erie, PA. Prior to that he was living on Conneaut Lake. Beloved husband of Jill (Conley) Swick, cherished father of Juliet Swick; dear brother of Jan (Sam) Caldwell. Mike graduated from La Roche College and then the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He practiced dentistry for 36 years in his Allison Park and Conneaut Lake Dental Offices. During this time, he became an expert and innovator in the field of laser dentistry, developing the Swick “High Fluence” Technique. Holding numerous offices and on the board of directors for various dental societies, he was also the author of many scientific and clinical dental articles and presentations. Mike taught laser dentistry courses throughout the US and internationally, including Europe, Japan, Chile and the Bahamas, always returning home with a story to tell and great restaurants to recommend. In 2015 Mike joined the faculty at LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Erie, where he was an Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry. He loved teaching and encouraging the students to achieve their highest potential. Mike was a former member of both the Crawford Masonic Lodge 234 and the Zem Zem Shrine in Erie. An avid fisherman, he was a member of the S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie and the Conneaut Lake Sportsman’s Association. Memories of fun, laughter, perseverance, learning, generosity and love will keep Mike forever alive in the hearts of his family, friends, and the three little Pomeranians, Ella, Ritzy and Dulci.
