Randall 1. Barney, 29, of 1345 Jackson Hill Rd . Urbana, died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound at 8 p m Fnday at his home Champaign County Sheriff's deputies, who investigated the incident, said that a 12 gauge shotgun was used and that no note was reported. No foul play is suspected in the death. Barney was born Sept 30. 1952. a son of Joseph A and Mary Rakos Barney and was employed by the Harper Construction Co Survivors include his wife, Darla Smith Barney. two daughters, Allison and Erica, one son, Benjy, his mother, Mrs. Margaret Barney of Urbana, and six brothers.
