Wesley Elmer Asbury Jr., 58 of Wichita Falls passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date followed by Wesley being taken back to his native land for burial.

Wesley was born on October 17, 1961 to the late Wesley and Marie Janice (Buckley) Asbury in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Muscogee Creek Nation Tribe and attended schools on the reservation. After his family moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, Wesley spent several years as a welder with an off-shore drilling company. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid OU fan and also an excellent pool player. Wesley loved his family, friends and just life.

Along with his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

He is survived by three brothers, Charles Asbury and wife, Zina, Thompson Asbury and wife, LaVirl , both of Wichita Falls and Curtis Smith and wife, Anna of Watumka, Oklahoma: a sister, Pauline Starr of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous other family members.
